Workshop Presenter: Melissa Hale of Yates Perfumes and Apothecary

 

During this perfumery workshop, you will learn the basics of perfumery: what are notes, types of perfumery oils, building a scent, and blending ratios. The oils in the workshop will be essential oils, premium fragrance oils, and aroma molecules. .

 

It’s important to come with an open mind and ready to explore the world of scent. Please arrive at the workshop free of perfumes so that you can experience your creations as you're blending.

 

You will make and take two 5ml bottles of perfume. All perfumes are alcohol-free and are blended in a fractionated coconut oil base. There will be written help along with personal guided help.

 

Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Cheese, Crackers and Bottled Water will be provided but feel free to bring a beverage of your choice along.

Harvest Barn Dance

HISTORICAL SOCIETIES PARTNER FOR AUTUMN EVENT

Historic Lyme Village and the Bellevue Historical Society are working together to sponsor a Harvest Barn Dance on Saturday, September 30, 2017, from 6 to 10 p.m.


The dance floor will be in Lyme Village’s newest ‘old’ building, the Schaefer Barn.   Area residents are invited for an evening of fun, food, dancing, and weather permitting, a bonfire singalong.


Join us for square dancing (with a short dance ‘class’ for all who would like to learn the steps), line dancing, two-step, and more, maybe even a chicken dance.  Cider, soft drinks, and a light meal will be available. 


Doors open at 6 for a social hour; dancing begins at 7; and the evening will close with a singalong.


Admission is $10 per person for this old-fashioned Saturday night dance party, co-hosted by Historic Lyme Village and the Bellevue Historical Society.  Tickets are available at Gilbert’s Place, Golden Acorn, Hunter’s Needs, and from Board members of both organizations.  Lyme Village Gift Shop is closed for the season except for a few events

Shop Bellevue Ohio "Gift Card Tree"

 

Bellevue businesses are donating gift certificate and cards to our Gift Card Tree.  Begining on Fri. Nov. 24th people were able to start entering for a chance to win the tree.  On Thursday Dec. 7th the winning entry will be drawn at the Tree Lighting at Central Park.  Lighting will be following the parade in downtown Bellevue.

THYM Wake up the Rock

On Saturday April 21st from 9am till noon Touch the Heart Youth Ministries (THYM) will be 'Waking the Rock on Yorkshire' for the season.

The Rock is located at 170 Yorkshire Pl. behind East of Chicago in Bellevue.

There will be flowers to plant and water, some post holes to dig and set.

The shelter house needs cleaned and painted from top to bottom. If your Scouts need to build something we are in need of a portable boat rack or shelving in the Shelter House. So bring your Boy Scouts and your Girl Scouts, Bring your youth groups and help us get the Rock ready for a fun filled summer of adventure for our youth.

We will be serving lunch afterward so if your coming please let us know in advance so we can buy and prepare enough food.

Work gloves and boots are encouraged. Long pants and sleeves if you are helping with the Challenge Course Trail.
