3rd Annual Chili Cook-Off

 

 

The perfect time for chili is any time and this is going to be an unbelievably drool-worthy, scrumptious, rockin' good chili time for people who love food!

 

The Shop Bellevue Ohio Organization has invited local eateries, organizations and guest chefs within the Bellevue area to whip up a batch of their best recipe for chili and enter the 3rd Annual contest this year!

 

This year we are also featuring our Celebrity cook-off between our crime fighting Bellevue Police vs. our fire eating Bellevue Fire Department. 

 

DATE:  Thursday, February 4, 2016

 

TIME:   5:00pm, our local judges will be put to the test sampling the chilis find our winners for the best chili in 5 categories.    People’s Choice will be awarded by the general public. 

 

WHERE: The Green Emerald Restaurant and Pub, downtown Bellevue, 137 E. Main Street.

 

The public and contestants are welcome starting at 5:30pm to sample all of the chili recipes created by our contestants, while supplies last. 

This is a fundraiser for Shop Bellevue Ohio to raise money to help promote Bellevue, it's businesses and events during the year.  
The sampling cost is only $5.00 to taste ALL of the entries or a generously sized bowl of chili and Mary Magyar, Catering-to-Go famous cornbread (with very large portions mind you) will be available too.
Beverages are extra with plenty of selections to choose from.  
For those who don't care for chili, yet still would like to join us, The Green Emerald will have their regular menu available and served by their waitresses.

 

Fun and festive T-Shirts will be available for sale for $10.00 each with the winning logo printed upon them from our Chili Cook-off logo contest sponsored by ShopBellevueOhio.com   
Winners name still yet to be determined.

 

Raffle Basket tickets and 50/50 tickets will be available for purchase.   Businesses, services and organizations have generously donated product and gift certificates for our fundraising efforts to help enable Shop Bellevue Ohio to continue to promote Bellevue, it's businesses and local events. 

 

  • Bring a friend, the family, get someone out of the house for a couple hours just for the fun of it! 
  • No reservations needed!
  • Free parking is available in front and in the back parking lot with a rear entrance for the restaurant!
  • Plenty of seating!
  • Plenty of conversation, fun and laughter!

At the former Pattens Fruit Stand on Rt 20 W Bellevue. Old stuff, new stuff, lots of stuff, come on out and shop for super deals.

We are collecting donations to be sold and all funds will go to the Bellevue Historical Society.

We have old and new items some never used others gently used.

No early buyers, there are no clothing at this sale.

Bellevue Historical Society will not be responsible for accidents or injuries.


Also avaiable at the garage sale will be the Macys Shop for a Cause coupons. Purchasing a coupon for $5.00 you will have a chance to win $500.00 Macy's Gift Card. 25% savings on purchases.

The Bellevue Historical Society is having their 6th Annual Sunflower Sale with the proceeds going to the Tremont House restoration project.
Golden Acorn hosts this annual event located on N. West Street, Bellevue where people can purchase beautiful sunflowers by the stem.  
You can also bring your own container and have it filled with bright cheery sunflowers combined with fillers such as various greens, lavender and more!

Premade arrangements will be designed and available for customers to take home with them also.  


SUNFLOWER COOKIES!  Annie Burkhart is busy baking her famous and ohhhh so delicious sunflower cookies again which she has graciously donated every year with the profits going directly to the Tremont House Restoration Project. They will be available for purchase at the sale.  I heard Annie may be baking sunflower cupcakes too!
 

CAKES, CAKES, CAKES...and who doesn't love CAKE!  We will be selling sunflower cakes in various flavors, baked by our own Copper Top Bake Shop where everything is delicious!  The cakes are decorated with a huge sunflower on top with sunshine colors that make us smile. More details will be at the sale for immediate purchase and for also ordering. Proceeds from sales will go directly to the Tremont House Resortation Project.

 

 

Be sure to stop in The Golden Acorn too!  It's an amazing store you don't want to miss out on.

Scarecrow Voting lasts until Oct 6th

Let's Decorate Bellevue for Fall!

2nd Annual Scarecrow Contest! 
 

Shop Bellevue Ohio would like to encourage all building owners, business, organizations, etc. to take a few minutes to decorate your space for fall.
This contest will be determined by popular vote and a little money…in the end everyone in Bellevue wins.

All scarecrows need to be registered by e-mailing your location to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.or by signing in at The Candy Depot, Gilbert’s Place, Hunter’s Needs, or Perry’s Plantation.

Scarecrows need to be in place by noon on Saturday, September 24th. 
Voting will take place the week of September 24th until October 6th  
Each site will need to provide a money collecting container in a secure area. (Let people know where to deposit the monetary vote for your scarecrow.) Scarecrows can be traditional or represent your business or organization. 

Scarecrows must be appropriate for all ages.

The money collected will be divided up and used by Shop Bellevue Ohio to promote the Bellevue business community and also a donation will be made to the "Back Pack Program" that supplies week-end meals to children.  Start planning for your scarecrow and make sure your coins count!!!! The WAR is on!!!!  Encourage people to walk around Bellevue and visit the various scarecrows…vote for your favorite or sabotage someone else.

 

So have fun and get in to the spirit of the season!
