Bellevue Historical Society’s Annual Meeting

 

“BELLEVUE REMEMBERED” at Historical Society Annual Meeting

The Bellevue Historical Society’s Annual Meeting is on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 7 p.m. at Bellevue Society for the Arts, 205 Maple St., Bellevue.   All are welcome to join us.

“Bellevue Remembered”, organized by Program Chairman Mary Mitchell, will feature reminiscences from 2002 oral histories, recorded as part of the Ohio Bicentennial’s Wallpaper Project.  Hear these voices from Bellevue’s past:  Original participants Peggy Missler, Historian Bill Oddo, and Patricia Sullivan will share their memories from that time.  Hazel Decker’s memories will be read by her daughter April Bickel; Police Chief Russel Hetrick’s by Police Chief Mark Kaufman; Willis Lodge’s by daughters, LeRose Meadows and Sue Andrews; and Bob Wagner’s by his daughter, Gail Coe.

A brief business meeting and election of Directors will precede the program.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend the Shop Bellevue Ohio organization meetings! 

The meetings are informative to what's happening in Bellevue regarding upcoming events, new businesses, promotions and other community information.

This meeting we will be at:

Branco Pizza House

325 E Center Street in Bellevue

The meetings are only 1 hour and you also get to enjoy the warm hospitality of the location our rotating meeting are held at and many times we enjoy some really good grub too!

Pretty Rock Help & Open House (Fri. 20 Apr, 2018 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

We have several plots that are in need of rock removal. These rocks are beautiful. Come help us out; spend as long as you like, weather permiting, and take one of your favorite home. Or, just join us to visit the farm and find out more about our CSA Farm to table shares.

THYM Wake up the Rock (Sat. 21 Apr, 2018 9:00 am - 12:00 pm)

On Saturday April 21st from 9am till noon Touch the Heart Youth Ministries (THYM) will be 'Waking the Rock on Yorkshire' for the season.

The Rock is located at 170 Yorkshire Pl. behind East of Chicago in Bellevue.

There will be flowers to plant and water, some post holes to dig and set.

The shelter house needs cleaned and painted from top to bottom. If your Scouts need to build something we are in need of a portable boat rack or shelving in the Shelter House. So bring your Boy Scouts and your Girl Scouts, Bring your youth groups and help us get the Rock ready for a fun filled summer of adventure for our youth.

We will be serving lunch afterward so if your coming please let us know in advance so we can buy and prepare enough food.

Work gloves and boots are encouraged. Long pants and sleeves if you are helping with the Challenge Course Trail.

34th Annual BBQ and Silent Auction (Sun. 22 Apr, 2018 11:00 am - 1:00 pm)

 

April 22, 2018 we will be hosting our 34th Annual BBQ and Silent Auction at Bellevue High School. 

Funds raised will go toward the Bellevue FFA Chaper as well as other FFA Alumni networking functions and community events to benefil our members as well as our community residents.  

 

On the 22nd you can buy a dinner with your choice of pork chop or chicken with sides

 

Step into the gym and bid on a wide selection of donated items up for silent auction.

No. 757 scrap drive benefit (All day)

Scrap drive benefit for Mad River and NKP railroad museum for the bring back 757 campaign. Donations of scrap metals will be taken all day April 28th from 8am until closing at 12pm with 100% of all proceeds going towards bringing back Bellevue's steam locomotive Nickle Plate Road No. 757.

Comedy Show with Mary Faktor (-)

Join the Bellevue Historical Society on Sunday, April 29th for an afternoon of comedy fun!  

Comedienne Mary Faktor brings her hilarious one-woman show, The Six Ages of Woman, to the Bellevue Society for the Arts, 205 Maple St., Bellevue.  

Ticket includes a scrumptious selection of appetizers and desserts by Copper Top Bake Shop.

 

Doors open at 1:30.
