OLD BUSINESS

Shoppin’ Sally has been making her way about town.  She has visited Harman Fitness Center, Jaime Garza – Legacy Acres and has still some stops to make like the Bellevue Rec Center and a few others that have requested her presence.  She sure is getting to know Bellevue!!!


Seasonal  Guide
Fall Edition ads are due by August 7th and will print August 25th.  Scarecrow contest information will be needed for this edition.  Christmas edition ads will need to be in by October 16th and will print November 3rd.

Shop Small Saturday – November 24th
Last year all businesses donated gift cards for the gift card tree.  Winner was drawn at the Tree Lighting.  Entry tickets will be sold for the gift card tree – proceeds 50% of proceeds will be donated to benefit the Inclusive Playground.  Price for the tickets will be $1 each or 6 for $5.  It was decided there would be three trees valued $100.00, $250.00 and an unknown value being the top prize.
Janell looked into the legal requirements for holding a public raffle and reported on it.
Drawing will be held at the Tree Lighting the first Thursday in December – December 6th.

Scarecrow Contest – Month of October
50% of the proceeds from the Scarecrow Contest will be donated to the Inclusive Playground and 50% remains with SBO for continued advertising expenses for events and functions.  The Inclusive Playground is planned for the former Ellis School location.  Janell will design the flyer for the contest and do the mailing to Bellevue local businesses inviting them to participate.  Scarecrows will be up from October 1st through 31st for voting.  It was mentioned again that the Auxiliary Police should participate.


Organization Sign for SBO
City is putting up organizational sign at triangle coming into Bellevue and SBO was asked if we wanted a sign put up.  Janelle motions to make sign – Judy seconds at meeting of July 2, 2018.  Jeannie is going to follow up on costs of making the sign.

Rail Fest 2018
If anyone interested in submitting their business name for advertising during this event of August 18th, contact George Keller.

Ads for upcoming Christmas season – Sandusky Register.

NEW BUSINESS

Cornstalk Decoration

Discussion of decorating light poles with cornstalks and bows.  Need to get volunteers for project plus sponsors of purchasing of the cornstalks, ribbons and making bows.  Nothing confirmed at this point, more discussion next meeting.

2019 Soup Cook-Off
Being held on February 7, 2019 at the Bellevue Elementary School.   Jeannie will be talking to school and completing necessary paperwork to secure location, date and time. Discussion was held about inviting other vendors to participate who would like to share their food type businesses with the public during the cook-off using tables for their displays.  These businesses would be required to have a cottage industry license or food license to attend.  Also, it was discussed if they would be allowed to sell their product(s) during the cook-off or just have a show-n-tell table to create their business awareness. Nothing was confirmed at this time.
