Meeting Minutes

Sept. 26, 2016

Shop Bellevue Ohio met at Long Way Home Restaurant at 8 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016.
ATTENDING:  LeRose Meadows, Keith Jesse, Janell and Paul Davenport, Jeannie Gore, Rob Moore, Tom Long, Judy Miller.

LeRose opened the meeting.  Fall decorations were installed downtown on Saturday morning. Many thanks to the Attica Hub and Perry's Plantation, for donating the materials; and to Rob Moore, Paul Davenport, Alicia Robles, Keith Jesse, and John Miller for helping with the installation.  Scarecrows are up around town as well; see the complete list on the website or Facebook.

The Zombie Walk went off well, with over 20 participants.  The children loved getting made up at Gilbert's Place, and loved showing it off; Mike Mazzaro & Nick led the walk; Bellevue Police Auxiliary helped with traffic along the parade route; donations helped the 'Winterize our Kids program.  Thank you to the Mazzaro Family for all their efforts. Picnic in the Park had fewer attendees. Firemen grilled hotdogs, Rob Moore made baked beans, Keith Jesse donated watermelons, and Senior Girl Scouts helped serve, and with signs to encourage people to stop.  Thank you to all who helped and donated.
Discussion was held on whether to continue with the Walk.  It was a smaller crowd, but there was a lot going on.  Keith will ask his co-worker if he's interested in chairing an event next year.  Jeannie would like a photo of presentation to clothing closet to post.

Rob Moore volunteered to help as photographer for events.  Tom Long volunteered his daughter, Amy, to help as well.

ATTENDING:  Keith Jesse, Jeannie Gore, Janell Davenport, Rob Moore, Paul Davenport, Judy Miller.

MEETINGS.  Proposal made to have one breakfast meeting a month, and one evening meeting a month, to try to accommodate varied schedules.  Keith said Monday is the only good day for him, and he suggested going back to 1st and 3rd Mondays, to allow occasional appearance at City Council.  Mornings don't work for Janell.  After discussion, it was agreed that the next meeting will be held on Monday, Sept. 26th at 8 a.m. at Long Way Home Restaurant.  Jeannie will confirm with the Longs.  Further discussion on dates to follow.

SBO Meeting Minutes - Aug. 2, 2016

SHOP BELLEVUE OHIO met on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at 7 p.m. at Gilbert's Place.
Present:  LeRose Meadows, Chairman,  Tanhan Hicks, Jeannie gore, Janell Davenport, Judy Miller, Keith Jesse, Jennifer Mazzaro, Nick Mazzaro, Chris Beamer.

LeRose introduced Chris Beamer, from Mad River & NKP Railroad Museum.
Chris spoke about the NKP Railroad Historical Society Convention, meeting in Bellevue on October 15th.  Chris asked Shop Bellevue Ohio to assist with an afternoon event for spouses to provide an experience and promote our local businesses.  Time frame is between 1 and 5 p.m.  Tanhan suggested a Shopping Scavenger Hunt.  It could involve a Map, a puzzle, to determine the clue to the next location, and provide an overview of the area.
Other ideas:
A bag of clues w/letters inside.  Each store comes up with its own clue; at the end, come up with a phrase to solve a puzzle.  It could be timed.
Each person registered gets a bag.  It needn't be confined to the downtown.  Starting point would be the Railroad Museum Gift Shop.
It was suggested that the information be put out in advance, so the attendees know what to expect, and possibly boost attendance.  Businesses wishing to get involved, let us know asap.  Contact List of Businesses involved is needed.  Consider a giveaway item or discount at YOUR business to registrants.  You may also want to think of special items to offer for souvenirs, snacks, etc.
