Bringing Her Back to Her Glory Days!
The Bellevue Historical Society is the owner of some of Bellevue's most significan treasures. One of those treasures is the Tremont House, which will one day be home to the smaller treasures that track the history of our town, and the many industried and commercial businesses that have grown and prospered here over the centuries.
The Tremont House, at the corner of East Main Street and North West Street, has been an 'anchor' of the downtown since 1846. She has withstood mistreatment from previous owners by the modifications they undertook to make a more 'modern' commercial space.
The Historical Society is working to retore the Tremont House to her former glory and make a home to display our collections. The first phase of the project will cost $380,000.00 which will rehabilitate the front facade to its original 1846 look, install new 6-over-6 paned windows throughout, and restore the columns for all three floors. This is a very ambitious undertaking by our Society, and we need your help! Read Article Here!
At this time, we ask you to help the Bellevue Historical Society in this endeavor. Your donation will be doubled because of a dollar-to-dollar matching grant from the Sandusky County Communities Foundation. It is tax-deductible, as we are a 501 (c)3 organization.
